Privacy Policy

Brainsay ("we", "us") is a browser extension and online service that translates and rewrites text you choose to send to it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do. It is written to be read, not skimmed.
1. The short version
- We do not store the text you translate. It is processed for the duration of the request and discarded.
- We do not read your conversations. The extension only sends text you explicitly ask to translate — by pressing the button, the shortcut, or the microphone.
- We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers. We show no ads.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
2. What we collect and why

3. Who processes your text
To translate, we send your text to a large language model provider (currently Anthropic, PBC) over an encrypted connection. We use the provider's API under terms that do not permit training on customer data. The provider processes the text only to return a result. Speech recognition for voice input is performed by your browser (Google Chrome's Web Speech API) and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
4. What the extension can access
The extension runs on a fixed list of sites (Gmail, WhatsApp Web, Telegram Web, LinkedIn, Slack, Messenger) to show its button next to text fields, and on any other site only after you press its keyboard shortcut. On those pages it reads the focused text field or your selected text only when you trigger a translation. It does not collect browsing history, page content you did not select, cookies or passwords.
5. Security
All traffic is encrypted (TLS). Sessions use short-lived signed tokens. Secrets are kept in a managed secret store, never in code. Logs contain no message text. Access to production systems requires multi-factor authentication. Full details are in our product specification, available on request.
6. Your rights
You may request a copy of your data or delete your account and all associated records by emailing privacy@brainsay.app from the address you signed in with. Deletion completes within 24 hours. Residents of the EU/EEA, UK and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, which we honor regardless of where you live.
7. Children
Brainsay is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects your data, we will show a notice in the extension before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Brainsay («мы») — расширение для браузера и онлайн-сервис, который переводит и переписывает текст, который вы сами ему отправляете. Здесь — что мы собираем, зачем, и чего не делаем никогда. Написано, чтобы это читали, а не пролистывали.
1. Коротко
- Мы не храним текст, который вы переводите. Он обрабатывается на время запроса и удаляется.
- Мы не читаем ваши переписки. Расширение отправляет только тот текст, который вы явно попросили перевести — кнопкой, хоткеем или микрофоном.
- Мы не продаём и не передаём персональные данные рекламодателям. Рекламы нет.
- Вы можете удалить аккаунт и все связанные данные в любой момент.

3. Кто обрабатывает текст
Для перевода текст отправляется провайдеру языковой модели (сейчас — Anthropic, PBC) по зашифрованному соединению. Мы используем API провайдера на условиях, запрещающих обучение на данных клиентов. Провайдер обрабатывает текст только чтобы вернуть результат. Распознавание речи выполняет ваш браузер (Web Speech API в Google Chrome) и подчиняется политике Google.
4. К чему у расширения есть доступ
Расширение работает на фиксированном списке сайтов (Gmail, WhatsApp Web, Telegram Web, LinkedIn, Slack, Messenger), чтобы показывать кнопку рядом с полем ввода, а на любом другом сайте — только после нажатия хоткея. На этих страницах оно читает поле с курсором или выделенный текст только в момент, когда вы запускаете перевод. Оно не собирает историю браузера, содержимое страниц, которое вы не выделяли, cookies или пароли.
5. Безопасность
Весь трафик шифруется (TLS). Сессии — короткоживущие подписанные токены. Секреты хранятся в менеджере секретов, никогда в коде. В логах нет текста сообщений. Доступ к продакшену — только с двухфакторной аутентификацией. Полные детали — в спецификации продукта, доступна по запросу.
6. Ваши права
Вы можете запросить копию своих данных или удалить аккаунт и все записи письмом на privacy@brainsay.app с адреса, под которым входили. Удаление выполняется в течение 24 часов. Жители ЕС/ЕЭЗ, Великобритании и Калифорнии имеют дополнительные права по GDPR и CCPA — мы соблюдаем их для всех, независимо от страны.
7. Дети
Brainsay не предназначен для детей младше 13 лет (16 в ЕЭЗ), и мы сознательно не собираем их данные.
8. Изменения
Если изменения политики затронут ваши данные, мы покажем уведомление в расширении до вступления их в силу. Дата вверху всегда соответствует текущей версии.
